Aeg Powerplant
Abandoned Factory Germany

AEG Power Plant – Germany
The complex was most likely constructed i
n the early 1900s as a coal-fired power plant, closely linked to a nearby mine or industrial zone. It supplied electricity to surrounding factories and, at times, even parts of nearby towns.

When the adjacent coal mine closed in the 1960s, the plant gradually lost its profitability. In an effort to extend its operational life, the facility was later converted from coal to natural gas. This transition kept the turbines running for a few more decades.

Despite several modernizations, the power plant was ultimately shut down in more recent times. What remains is a silent turbine hall, frozen in time, still housing massive AEG turbines.

Inside the turbine hall, large blue-painted AEG turbines dominate the space, accompanied by older grey machines from earlier operational phases.

The control room tells a different story: heavily polluted, layered with dust, decay, and graffiti left behind by time and trespassers.

Today, the entire complex stands in a state of advanced deterioration. Abandoned machinery, rusting pipes, and crumbling industrial structures fill the halls, creating a haunting atmosphere where industry once thrived.

The site has been abandoned for decades and is not officially accessible to visitors.
